It develops students concept of the earth as an integrated whole and their understanding of different processes in nature and society as well as the interdependence of these processes. The focus is on learning the interaction between the physical environment and human activities for sustainable development. The environment is understood in broadest sense, encompassing the physical, chemical, biological and built environments.
