CUSTECH Osara Inaugurates First-Ever Student Representative Council (SRC) Executive
The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has officially inaugurated its pioneer Student Representative Council (SRC) Executive.
The historic event took place today, June 27th, 2025 at the university’s Senate Chamber, with top management officials, faculty members, and students in attendance.
The Legal Advisor of the university, Barrister Abigail Ojochide Tayo, Esq., administered the oath of office to the new SRC executives, charging them to uphold the principles of accountability, transparency and integrity.
In his address, the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, congratulated the newly sworn-in executives and urged them to strike a balance between their academic pursuits and leadership responsibilities.
“Leadership is a privilege that comes with great responsibility,” the VC stated. “While you serve as representatives of the student body, your primary duty remains your academic excellence. You must also discharge your duties with integrity and avoid being used to disrupt the peace and smooth academic calendar that CUSTECH is known for.”
The Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Dr. Shaib Shehu, lauded the university management for establishing the SRC, describing it as a critical step toward amplifying students’ voices on campus. He advised the new executives to embrace dialogue in resolving issues and to leverage their positions to foster unity and progress among students.
Speaking on behalf of the newly inaugurated council, Comrade Isah Yahaya, President of the SRC, expressed gratitude to the university management for prioritizing student welfare. He assured that the council would serve as a vital communication bridge between students and the university management.
The SRC comprises representatives from all faculties in the university.
