CUSTECH Osara Receives COREN Accreditation Team

The Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, has recently, received a team from the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) for the accreditation of six engineering programmes in the institution. The team was formally welcomed at the University campus as part of efforts to assess the quality of its academic offerings in engineering.

Receiving the delegation in his conference room, the Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, warmly welcomed the team of academics and professionals to the University. He assured them of the institution’s readiness to address any observations made during the exercise, emphasizing CUSTECH’s commitment to maintaining high standards in engineering education.

After touring the facilities and interacting with staff and students of the Faculty of Engineering, the Team Lead, Prof. Joseph Idigure, commended the University for upholding engineering standards.
He noted that the accreditation exercise was not intended to witch-hunt the institution but to enhance the quality of the engineering profession. He further applauded the University’s collaboration with industries, which he described as vital in producing competent and highly skilled engineers, while also pointing out areas for further improvement.

Earlier, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Engr. Prof. E.A. Peter Egbe, highlighted the six programmes presented for accreditation: Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering.

The accreditation exercise commenced on Monday, 30th March,2026 and concluded on Wednesday 1st April,2026.
