CUSTECH Strengthens Industry Collaboration With PEEMADI
The Management of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara, (CUSTECH),has expressed its appreciation to the Power Equipment and Electrical Machinery Development Institute (PEEMADI), Okene, for its continued efforts in strengthening industry–academia collaboration.
This was disclosed by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Engr.Prof.Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu FNSE, during a courtesy visit to PEEMADI, a division of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), at its office in Okene, Kogi State.
The Vice-Chancellor, who was represented by the Director,Physical Planning and Development of the University, Bldr. Ismail Adoke, congratulated the Acting Managing Director of PEEMADI, Engr. Abdulsamad El-Suleiman, PhD, on his recent appointment and wished him a successful tenure, while expressing optimism for stronger collaboration between the institute and the University.
He also informed the management of PEEMADI about the forthcoming Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) accreditation exercise for some engineering programmes of the University, noting that the institute’s facilities would be part of the locations to be visited during the exercise.
In his response, the Acting Managing Director of PEEMADI, Engr. Abdulsamad El-Suleiman, PhD, expressed appreciation for the visit by the CUSTECH delegation. He reaffirmed his commitment to sustaining and strengthening the existing collaboration between PEEMADI and the University.
He further assured the team of the institute’s full cooperation and support during the upcoming COREN accreditation exercise.
Other members of the CUSTECH delegation included the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, Prof. E. A. Peter Egbe; the Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Engr. Dr. Ayo Samuel; and the Head, Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Engr. Dr. Nathaniel Salawu.
