The Governing Council of Confluence University Of Science and Technology, (CUSTECH) has been inaugurated. The ceremony was presided over by the Secretary to the Government of the State, Dr. (Mrs) Folashade Ayoade, who represented the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alh.Usman Ahmed Ododo, marking a new chapter in the university’s administration and governance.
Dr. (Mrs) Ayoade, in her opening remarks, emphasized the crucial role of the Governing Council in steering the university towards achieving its vision of becoming a leading institution in science and technology education.
“The establishment of the Governing Council is a pivotal step in ensuring that CUSTECH adheres to the highest standards of academic excellence and governance,” Dr. (Mrs) Ayoade stated. “This council comprises distinguished individuals whose wealth of experience and commitment to education will drive the university’s mission forward.”
The newly inaugurated Governing Council includes notable figures from academia, industry, and public service, bringing a diverse range of expertise and perspectives to the governance of CUSTECH.
In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Olu Obafemi, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and outlined the council’s commitment to fostering innovation, academic excellence, and community engagement. “We are dedicated to building a robust academic environment that nurtures future leaders in science and technology. Our focus will be on enhancing research capabilities, improving infrastructure, and ensuring that our students receive a world-class education,” he said.
Dr. Ayoade called on the council to work collaboratively with the university’s management team to achieve the set goals and uphold the institution’s core values.
CUSTECH, Osara, which was established in year 2020, has quickly gained recognition for its commitment to providing high-quality education in science and technology fields. The inauguration of the Governing Council is expected to further strengthen the university’s governance structure and enhance its capacity to deliver on its mandate.
With the official inauguration of its maiden Governing Council, CUSTECH Osara is poised to embark on a new era of growth and development, solidifying its position as a beacon of science and technology education in Nigeria.
